Latest News (1)

Arrangements for the Showline are well underway and I am very pleased to Announce that Ali Machinchy has agreed to take on the role of Flight Line Director for the  display and as well as taking a lead role in the smooth running of the Flight Line Ali will also be featuring in the display.

I have also secured a new commentary team for the Showline following Colin
Hammond’s decision not to participate in the 2011 Showline.

Many of you will already know the name of Dave Tappin of Dawn Patrol and LMA fame
(Dave was also a long time pylon racer too) and I am really pleased that Dave
has agreed to join the commentary team as he brings a huge amount of
experience, knowledge and enthusiasm with him, not to mention his flair with
the microphone.

Joining Dave in the “commentary box” will be Flight Lieutenant Leon Creese from RAF
Cranwell.  Leon is not only an experienced long time aeromodeller but is also the Chief Pilot (and originator) of the RAF Kingair Display (not to mention being a thoroughly “splendid” chap); Leon will also be assisting with the slot planning for the Showline.

I am looking forward to working with the new team and of course the pilots, I
would like to thank all those who have contacted me with words of support and
offers of assistance.

I have already received a number of completed applications from pilots wishing to
take part in the Showline and I will be writing to all applicants individually
over the coming weeks.

I will aim to post further updates as arrangements proceed.
