Silver & Gold for the British Speed Team at the 2006 Control Line World Championships!

The British Team has won the Speed Team Gold medal at the Model Flying World Championships with a combined speed of 879.7kph which was 14.4kph ahead of Russia who placed second. France placed third with 862.4kph.

Since Speed World Championships began in the mid-fifties, many countries have won the Team Gold medal on multiple occasions but Britain is the only country to have won the Team Gold a record number of six times. Five of their six
wins have been in consecutive years which has never before been achieved by any country in the history of the World Championships. All of the wins have been under the leadership of Peter Halman, Team Captain.

This is, indeed, a momentous achievement by the 2006 British Speed Team of Peter Halman, Ken Morrissey & Gordon Isles.

Peter Halman, the current European Champion, took the individual silver medal with a best speed of 297.8kph.
